I need this..does it even exist?

I have a Xi-Fi soundcard that has 7.1 sound. It has 4 standard jacks at the back.

It seems that they are all outputs, with no mic input. This would make sense, if they are all stereo output (4 x 2 for the 8 channels for 7.1).

There is a microphone header on the board inside, with the 4 little pins for an internal cable to connect to, but my case has no such cable.

Can I buy a blanking plate for a PCI slot that just has a mic-in, and connects to the 4 little pins on the soundcard, so that I can actually use a microphone with my PC?

do you use all 8 channels?
if you're running 5.1 or below have you tried plugging the mic into one of the spare slots and seeing if you can set it as a mic?
i know i can use any of the ports on the back of my PC as any of the outputs/inputs..
i know this because my green port is broken so i use the blue one as the green one and it works fine for my 5.1

your wrong m8y (im glad to say)

they can handle 3 way connections using the right jack, the same sort phone headsets use but 3.5mm not 2.5mm. this is the how to guide

depends, on XP is has a speaker guide built into the control panel, vista does not so your screwed
