Do Scan include cables with HDDs?

    Hi,

My Western Digital WD2500KS 250GB 7200RPM SATAII/300 16MB Cache hard drive is starting to fail. (Vista keeps freezing and on reboot it says "Disk Read Error".

I am looking to replace it with this drive : 1TB (1000 GB) Maxtor STM31000340AS DiamondMax 22, SATA 3Gb/s, 7200rpm, 32MB Cache, 8.5 ms, NCQ

    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/1TB-M...ache-85-ms-NCQ

I didnt get any cables when I brought the WD drive from ebuyer so I wondered if Scan bundle all the cables I need (SATA, power?) or do I need to order these as well?

Oh, and if anyone knows much about hard drives is the Maxtor going to be a good replacement and be faster than the WD? I take it the increase of cache should offer some performance increase.

    Thanks for any help!

I thought that might be the case. I need to check in the loft tomorrow to see if I have any cables lying around. Hopefully the items ive ordered so far will be saved in the Scan basket.

You make a good point that if its not stated it probably doesnt come with cables!

If your your buying an OEM drive then 9 times out of 10 the only accessories included are the anti static bag Most retail boxes dont include cables either.

LN4815 for power if you need it but only disks in a retail packaging are provided with cables.

We've had them bundled with cables when on offer recently - but normally they do not come with them.
