Well, I ordered my Asus P5K-E m/b to go with my quad core and they arrived on Wednesday. Trying to build the PC Wednesday night and realised that the board was faulty. Raised an RMA with Scan on Thursday morning to send the board back but as I wanted a replacement board as quickly as possible (I've booked some days leave to sort the new PC out and play with it) I decided to pay up-front for *another* board and then get a refund on the RMA rather than a replacement.
I placed this order at around 11am on Thursday - the board was in stock both before and after I placed the order *and also after the money was taken from my account*.
Last night I then received an email from Scan approx. 9 hours after I'd placed my order saying that they were out of stock of the motherboard.
Having first hand knowledge of this problem and reading other comments from problems people have had, I can only presume what has happened is Scan are not decrementing the stock levels when people either place the orders or even when payment is taken but are doing so later on in the day instead. If this is true then it means that Scan are falsely selling items as in-stock in order to get the business when in fact they do not have enough stock to go around? This is absolutely *the* wrong way to do business! You are seriously pi$$ing off your customers and at the end of the day will lose customers this way.
I am now stuck at trying to get a motherboard delivered Saturday morning so my days off are not wasted but even if Scan get stock in today, I presume there is no guarantee that I will be allocated a board
Even if I do get allocated a board - I presume that Scan would expect me to pay extra for Saturday delivery too?
The only alternative I have left is to cancel the order from Scan and order a board from Dabs who have it in stock at the same price as Scan .... something I really don't like doing because I think Dabs are awful when it comes to customer service and I begrudge giving them the business.
I'd appreciate if someone from Scan would give me some comments on this please and possibly suggest a solution out of this mess for me???
