Spam to an email address used only for Scan

I use a dedicated scan@ email address, and have started to receive spam to that address.
Anyone else noticed this? I'm currently waiting for a response from Scan.

I have a gmail address that I use only for on-line shopping (this includes scan many times) never had a single bit of spam sent to that address.

Maybe they just got lucky guessing some addresses or something?

There are many things that can pick up an email address if your not on your toes when surfing..

Thanks for the reply Legthigh. It's quite possible I suppose. In the email headers I can see loads of other email addresses, and a few others start with scan@, which to me makes it seem less likely that it's just pot luck...

Hi - no, don't think so - using Firefox with adblock, flashblock and noscript for untrusted sites. Just odd that an email address that I infrequently use should start to receive spam.

Scan have just phoned me to discuss and I am happy that this is being investigated professionally.

I have noticed an increase in spam mails generally recently (in my case not limited to or specific to Scan related mail accounts).

I know at work there has been a marked increase in the amount of spam coming in.

I got my mum an account from work and up until about summer she didnt get much spam. Since then its gone crazy.
