Re: SCAN2HEXUS : Recommend products to us

Have scan got an exclusive deal with Corsair to only stock their overpriced memory?
I find in incredibly odd that one of the largest independent pc retailer in the uk only has one brand of ram on their site.
Might as well go the whole hog and just stock Corsair psu's and Asus motherboards?

Im with u Allahu i always get my ram elsewhere. Scan need to start opening their horizons on that respect as Corsair is overpriced and scarcely better than the competition.

I find it incredibly odd that the main thing people who post in this thread whine about is the lack of other brands of RAM when there are clearly more than just one.

Go to Memory > Show All

    That'll get you here > http://www.scan.co.uk/Shop/Computer-...All/Memory/All

Under "Manufacturer" select everything except "All" and "Corsair" and then click "Filter this Page".

I started to paste each URL here to prove a point but the number of tabs I had open caused my machine to begin to lag and I had to stop opening links.

Re: SCAN2HEXUS : Recommend products to us

having the odd stick of supertalent and hynix doesnt count in my book. Im also not talking about value ram, i mean actual performance DDR2 and DDR3. On scan there is only the odd stick here and there but when you look at the market as a whole there is a lot of different brands.

Perhaps those (not you) who have mentioned it in the past need to be more specific?

75% of the "MOAR RAMS PLS" posts simply say Scan don't stock anything except Corsair, which isn't true.

Re: SCAN2HEXUS : Recommend products to us

fair point however i think we trust that scan don't need to be patronized to understand the point in the message, surely they know that most of their performance ram stock is Corsair and when someone says, 'more ram' they would assume that we meant 'get some OCZ, Kingston, Geil, GSkill or Crucial'.
If im wrong then there you have it Scan boys - Get on the case!

Re: SCAN2HEXUS : Recommend products to us

i'm with biscuit on this, scan definately needs to stock different ram brands. I purchased some g.skill recently and found it to be of much better quality than the corsair stuff i've got currently, and was significantly cheaper than the corsair i7/i5 stuff

Based on what Scan people have posted previously, I'd say you're spot on.
