    Scan Finance payment questions

    Hi,

Im considering doing a fairly big order through scan finance in the next few weeks, and have some questions to ask about it before I commit myself to it. (Radeon X1900 and Zalman 900Cu cooler, 2x1Gb Corsair TwinX, 2x Radeon X1600 AGPs 1x Pioneer DVDRW, 1x Case exhaust blower, 1x 250gb sata hdd, 1x 3400+ 754 Ath64 as an example. I may decide to split the order in two since some items are out of stock quite often (the x1600s agp) and want most of my stuff on time)

How is the payment done, is it a set monthly amount? or is that only after the 6-9 months period has expired?

If i wanted to settle the full amount in the next month, how would I go about doing that? Phone and confirm they can withdraw the funds, or do I log into my scan account and click 'pay back * amount'?

To be accepted, does it depend how much you have in the bank at the time? Say 50% or less of the total amount I would be rejected?

And final question, if something went out of stock on a big order, would it delay the entire order or would it get posted later than the other items?

Thanks in advance for any responses.

May I ask why you're going down the 754 route at this stage?

I have a Socket 754 PCI-E mainboard, and a Nforce3. with one CPU. Im moving to a new case with the PCI-E mainboard in, and my dad is having the nforce3. With my 2800+ 64. I want the 3400+ to back up the Radeon X1900, as its practically a 3700+ on 939. I dont care about DDR2 and AM2. no performance difference over 939/754 to justify the extra cost. (almost the same with single chan memory and dual chan memory vs 754 and 939.) And, 754 is cheap. Cheap is nice. (specially since the 3500+ is 50 quid cheaper than the 3700+. Both 2.2Ghz and 1Mb cache)

I will plan on a Dual Core in the next two to three years, when they become extremely required for most tasks. Right now what I have/get is more than enough power.

I think I should make some things more clear heh, I had bought the 754 PCI-E mobo before I got my job, and had been saving up for just a vid card upgrade and keep the CPU, but now Im working and earning, Im going to improve other parts of my system too. 939 is a unneeded expense from what ive seen in benchmarks, and AM2 is looking the same way (Not to mention having to buy new memory all over - I was planning to migrate my current 2x 512s before I got this job). I only game and listen to music and watch videos, so CPU heavy tasks like video encoding etc isnt really critical to me, hence lack of a desire to get a £2-300 CPU and £80 mainboard. You can game quite well on any AMD64 regardless of speed, since most games are now GPU dependent. Im kinda a cheap stake at times. heh

    Up until recently I had:

    3000+
    Asus K8VSE Deluxe
    X800XT

After two months of screwing around I finally got a working graphics card (X1800XT as a replacement). I had already bought a SKT754 3700+ (amazing chips), so I plumped for the Abit NV8 and stayed with 754 + PCI-E. I won't be updating until after christmas atleast, as my system really is flying atm.

yeah, theres not much incentive to go from a already established 754 base, the differences is almost neglibable except for extra cost. I think AMD did 939 to cater for those whining about lack of dual channel memory after nforce1 and 2 :/

have to say, the nforce4 mobo by gigabyte was nice and cheap too lol £46 it was (aint bothered about SLI/Xfire, next cards are as fast as two fo the previous anyway)

going to put it all into a nice thermaltake case (soprano). Cant wait
