    Yet another delayed order

It's a real common complaint with Scan, but why does it take you a day and a half to tell me my order is being delayed? It's really, really annoying. I ordered yesterday at around 13:00, and I get an email tonight at 20:30 telling me my order is delayed. Great. I've read your responses to others, and I know I'll get the same response.

But at the end of the day I've never had it happen to me with other suppliers:- I phone up - it's in stock - they dispatch my order. If it's not in stock I buy somewhere else. With Scan it seems to be - in stock - take my money - tell me a day later that actually it's not in stock.

Why can't you just tell me when I order? That way I can go buy from someone who can meet my delivery targets. I'll be cancelling yet another order out of principle.

Don't get me wrong - I appreciate that there are any number of valid reasons for the delay.
What I personally find completely annoying is the time delay involved - at 20:30 in the evening I have no chance of ordering from someone else. You take my money immmediately, but inform me 30 hours later I'm not getting my goods. As a customer all I want is to be told when I'll be receiving my order, and then I can make the choice whether to wait or buy elsewhere.

The main reason is that we can despatch up to 8pm each night, so we would only know at that time if the order has gone or not.
