Question about Xclio Hard Disk Cooler

Could you guys tell me if the Xclio Hard Disk Cooler (LN6080) will work with hard drives mounted in the Silverstone TJ06 case (LN8201) as this uses hard drive rails that attached directly to the hard drive

    thanks

(hot weather getting my hard drives too hot, one hit 50 degrees whilst encoding a DVD )

i am also a little confused by this.

my hard drives fit quite snugly without an extra piece of metal between it and the case - i am a little confused. does this mean that i screw the HDD into it, and then it fits a 5.25 bay?

please confirm this, im a little confused! thanks!

I've always been curious about these too. Be very happy to hear.

I currently use a temp controlled 110cfm fan, but 40db when something gets hot is a bit mcuh

It's probably the quietest fan that can shift 110cfm, (most fans cant hit 40cfm). new case next week which will spread the hard drives out enormously. Should aid the hard-drive cooling no end.

6 hot drives in a mATX case needs some serious airflow, luckily enough when the drives need that much cooling i'm usuallly doing something loud

You could do this but there's no adapter included to bring it up to 5.25 size and even if there was it increases the size by a 'normal' amount and still would be a fraction too big for that size space.

They fit very snugly to the hard drive and you have to wedge it in to the 3.5 space! They're therefore not suitable for all cases.

It's often better to get a fan blowing over the HD area if possible.

or even near the hdd - you don't need that much airflow just to keep them within good limits

I'm using the xclio hdd shims and have noticed a good difference

is the cooldrive 6 a good alternative - i note you have the silver version quite cheap - which version is this - does it come with the 4 probes and 4 fan headers?

please advise, i am seriously considering a pair of these and a pair of those 320 seagates.

also, are you aware of any issues with using drive rails with these?! (chieftec case)

Well they're often easier to fit. I did mean just a simple case fan - it's is often possible to locate near the hard drives - but obviously depends upon the case.

Only problem with that is you lose the bay below because of the size. Great if you only have a few drives I guess. Looks easier to fit though.

It looks like they will not fit as the drive rails ensure the drives fit nice and snug in the spaces.

    Best Regards,
