Spoken to dell - I asked for the monitor department they then told me I needed to talk to Scan - anyway I spoke to them for around 5 minutes and managed to get somewhere afte quoting the serial and someone going off to talk to their manager.

Now I was on the phone a good 30 minutes going backward and forward and managed ot get something sorted. A new one will arrive Monday/Tuseday.

Didn't get apologies or anything but still new one should arrive. I hope this one goes okay and thanks Scan

    UPDATE

Well I got a new one today and they did take the old one.

Model is 2005FPW but made April 2006 and revision A03 I have never had an A03 and i can't see any backlight leakage with this one so far, but haven't looked into it much yet.

EDIT: OH YES THERE IS LEAKAGE ANOTHER CALL ON THE WAY

HERE WE GO AGAIN, i just spoke to dell AGAIN! I want a refund from dell and they cant even find my monitor serial on the computer and if i want a refund they need the customer number from scan (yourselves) and scan will get the refund not me!

I asked to talk to the manager and i am now waiting for a call back. I AM NOT HAPPY with dell at all and i am furious over it.

So, scan could you possibly provide a dell customer number so they can find the record of the monitor on screen? I know you say its dells warrenty but this is taking the pee - i have had problems and 4 replacements since XMAS. I want to get this sorted if its a refund or a another model or brand.

Would appreshate any help scan. Thanks.

Ok, so i spoke to dell. The manager said that he would go and check on something and found 2005FPW is no longer in production - so he offered me a 2405 (24") also no longer in production but they have a few of those left in stock - if i had any problems no replacements would be avalible. So he recommended I take a look at 2007WFP (20" 2007) model, anyway he said he would send me a new 2007 to try and if everythings ok i can keep it - if not i can get a refund if i wish.

The manager at dell was very kinda and helpful.

Thanks to wesleyaldred at Scan for providing a sales number, that helped me out a lot. so again Thanks.

I dont freaking believe it! Dell screwed it up AGAIN! I've had it - my heads gonna blow!

They sent the dam 2007FP (non-widescreen model)! Just wait till I get on the phone - the dude better have hearing protection and insurence

EDIT: Calmed down a bit - seems i can get a replacement tomorrow (strange as i had to wait 4 days to get this one). What bout the phone calls since dec? Well they dont cover it :/ almost £100 !!
