hello all

Current information would suggest that i975x (and 965) motherboards will indeed support Kentfield, but it's unlikely anyone will be able to verify that until its release, or until Intel give detailed product information out.
Abit says that their AW9D will support Kentsfield
so as the gigabyte dq6
so does the msi one

scan call it P.E (when it should be called power up edition) for some unusal reason, it shouldnt be abbreviated as it can be confusing as msi do a normal 975x which does not support conroe
but yeah this supports kentsfield, not sure if its the 2.A, 2.B or 2.1 v
ohh bad axe is in stock (OEM though)

304 or 305 god knows lol

Yep they all will providing they support the core 2 duo, there are people in forums that have one e.g. www.extremeprometheia.com and there there is a guy called maverick-sg1, he has one.
The FSB is the same so it will be mostly a BIOS fix.
There is also E4200 going ot hit the shelves and that one has less FSB and is most likely going to be like the pentium D , also it will replace the pentium D, just hope it overclocks good as the D. Rumours has it it will be the next big thing cos its cheap ,more bang per buck also highly overclockable because it has a smaller FSB than core 2 duo.
@ nope
so from that info you saying that it will support quadcore!
not all of them will, likes of asrocks both the twinS and the conroexfire does not support
kentsfield, they however are based on the 945 chipset. I would say majority of the 965/975 will, at worst with a bios update.
well i think the asus p5b deluxe is hardly a low or average end motherboard, so surely this should support it?
yes actually i remember someone using a p5b with a kentsfield on XS, (well mentioning)
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...=110121&page=1
it is a 965 board.
so there you go
thanks man
but not the quadcore i cant see it
well
"I was testing my Kentsfield on the P5B and could only get FSB up to 400. But then I stuck my 6600ES in the board. Much different results. The board is not modded. Running 4-4-4 timings for all the tests"
i thought that would be confirmation it works.
The pics are for his 6600, but he points out he used the kentsfield on the p5b deluxe.
hence me posting "(well mentioning)"
out of interest what cpu are you planning to use for now?
hi
it will be the e6600, i,m just enquiring about the Quad core chips which will be out next yr sometime.
hmm
kentsfield = known as quad core = 4 cores (2 dualcore)
or are you talking about some newer native quad (4 independant cores)?
im using a kentsfield / quadcore, see for my other posts.
thats the only one i know of that is coming out end of this year / next year
thats the one , is not out how could you have it unless you have the engineering chip?
