    Scan is useless in my experience

    I have never used scan previously after hearing too many horror stories off friends and collegues, but recently heard many positive experiences with scan, so I decided to order something from them.

    I now wish I hadnt I placed my order back on the 10th of august. I made sure that everything was instock first, and decided to opt for the finance option. My credit card was billed that day, and I sent back the paperwork and the finance was agreed by the 14th. Then I got the inevitable "order delayed" email telling me it would be the 22nd before my order would be completed. On the 22nd on email and nothing on the 23rd so I rang scan, and got through to somebody who couldnt answer my question "well if we get it through and post in on friday you will get in on monday".

    Its now 26th and I have heard nothing from scan. This is the WORST service I have recieved from any e-tailer bar none. If its not bad enough that my money was taken and I had signed upto a credit agreement before I was told that any of my items were not in stock, scan have sent me nothing for over a week telling me when I can expect my order to be completed.

    Seriously I can never see myself putting up with such bad service again hence when this order is completed I wont be using scan.

    I think you were just unlucky, iv used them 3-4 times and have never had any problems. Last order was delayed by 1 day but they put up warnings & explantions for this.

    Overall i cant rate them highly enough, for customer support, the free next day delivery & general help & advice.

    ive ordered time and time again from Scan and never had anything but excellent service....

    i do have to say tho more recently they do seem incredibly busy with alot of products on pre order (well the stuff i want is anyway )

    Did you even read the front page of their site? They've got an absolute tonne of sales going through right now, they've apoligiesed, and have said they're trying their best. I got a prompt reply to my query that I logged with them.

    As for you saying that this is the worst service you've ever had from a retailer, I'd suggest you've been extraordinarily lucky in the past, if the worst you've ever had is a delay and a customer support person who can't give you an exact date for arrival.

    Try being ripped off a few times by shops that don't actually give a toss about you, and you'll soon realise just how good Scan are. Yes there are delays sometimes, that happens to every shop, but the bottom line is scan actually care about the customers, and they've shown that to someone like me who's been shopping with them for about 2 years now.

    i belive they are having a massive amount of orders since it is conroe season.

    I do honestly sympathise here - but if a delay is the worst service you have ever had then
    you maybe should do the lottery more often

    Yes Scan are having problems at the moment - but they are human and working to resolve them.

    Others are often worse yet keep going even though they are lowlifes (STOKEing up the flames maybe) but i,d rather trade with scan through this unsettled time than a lot of the others..

    i have made numerous orders and the service has been top notch all on time, one was delayed but only by a day, very good service imo i reckon you were just unlucky with the higher demand recently

    No offense but a delay is only part of the problem here. The fact that my credit card was charged and I am now paying interest on items I have not received even though I ordered them when in stock is a complete farce. The only other time this happened to me with another retailer they emailed me BEFORE charging my card to confirm I still wanted to make the purchase. And even then it only took 3 days for the item to come into stock.

    The lack of comminication from scan is also troubling for example if an item is delayed on amazon or other computer etailers such as ebuyer then I have been kept informed all of the way. When they havent been able to give me any information I havent been given vague dates I have been told sorry but we really dont know when the stock will arrive, do you want to cancel or amend your order.

    I'm sorry but I dont call it great service if the company itself doesnt seem to know exactly what is going and leaves it to the customer to chase them up.

    I have used most of the big computer related etailers in the past and have to say I havent had a problem like this before that includes the one that someone was hinting at earlier in the thread.

    I do sympathise with your position, but I have to say, it just sounds like you have had a bit of bad luck there

    I've been using Scan for many years now and they are the best e-tailer I have dealt with.

    I've never had any problems with Scan, I've been using them for nearly 5 years. I got finance through them in April and my goods arrived without a few days of returning the signed forms.

    As others have said they have a huge backlog at the minute which is fair enough, sometimes you just have to sit patiently and wait.

    I've had more problems with CityLink than anything else, their service is rubbish and they no longer attempt redelivery which means I have to make an 80 mile round trip to collect my goods if I'm unlucky enough to be in the toilet when they attempt delivery.
