    Recommendations needed.

OK, i need a little assistance here. In the next few weeks I am looking to purchase the below components.

    LN11461 - 250 Gb Samsung SP2504C SpinPoint P120, SATA300, 7200 rpm, 8MB Cache, 9.0 ms, NCQ - £46.49

    LN16518 - 640MB Palit 8800GTS PCI-E (x16), Mem 1600 MHz, GPU 500 MHz, 96 Streams, 2 x Dual Link DVI HDTV - £258.36

    LN11596 - 2GB (2x1GB) CorsairTwinX XMS2, DDR2 PC2-6400 (800), 240 Pins, Non-ECC Unbuffered, CAS 5-5-5-12 - £138.23

    LN17013 - Asus P5B-E Plus i965, S775, PCI-E (x16), DDR2 533/667/800, SATA II, SATA RAID, ATX - £93.99

    LN15049 - Intel Core 2 Duo E6600, Socket 775, 2.4 GHz, 1066MHz FSB, Conroe Core, 4MB Cache, Retail - £189.75

Now I also need a decent case and PSU but not something that will break the bank. Also I am not interested in fancy cases, just simple but good airflow will be essential.

Also can someone look at compatability with these components (i dont want the same problems I had with the AB9 Pro and the 7950GT)

    Thanks

dont scrimp on the PSU, be prepared to pay £60+ and look at 600W-ish

That seems OK, and a good price too. I am guessing the PSU will need to be at least 600W so is going to eat up about £80 ish. Its important I get that right.

Also note that a 320MB version of the 8800GTS is now available for £200 inc VAT which lowers the cost

Well there is not really a limit but the person its for is not a hardcore gamer. Just wants a decent system thats future proof.

I would say aroiund £800 -£1000 total cost, that may need to include Vista Home Premium OEM as well.

get the Xclio 700w version, its only £64 and its very good.
check out scans today only offers

the 8800gts is £246, the e6600 is cheaper and the samsung drives are £2 cheaper, so re add them so you get the discount in your basket. as for the case, id say get a coolermaster cavalier or elite black midi one, the cavalier is more than the akasa one but the finish and quality makes up in the price, the elite black is more cheaper than the akasa and its still a good case, with a side vent for airflow direct to the cpu.

OK, there have been a few changes. This looks to be the final spec......

Intel Core 2 Duo E6600, Socket 775, 2.4 GHz, 1066MHz FSB, Conroe Core, 4MB Cache, Retail

    2GB (2x1GB) CorsairTwinX XMS2, DDR2 PC2-6400 (800), 240 Pins, Non-ECC Unbuffered, CAS 5-5-5-12

    640MB Palit 8800GTS PCI-E (x16), Mem 1600 MHz, GPU 500 MHz, 96 Streams, 2 x Dual Link DVI HDTV

    700W Xclio X12S4P4 Modular SLi U-Quiet 14cm Fan 87%+ Efficiency Quad+12v EPS 4SATA 4 PCI-E

Samsung SH-S183A/BEBN Black SATA 18x18 ±R Dual Layer DVDRW Writer OEM UK inc Nero 6.x

    Asus P5B Deluxe/WiFi-AP iP965, S775, PCI-E (x16), DDR2 533/667/800, SATA II, SATA RAID, ATX

Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Music Sound Card OEM

    Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro - P4 up to 4.4GHz - S775 Dual Core / Core2Duo Ready

Logitech Marble Optical, 800 dpi, PS2 USB 1.1/2.0, 2 Buttons, Silver

Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium 32Bit 1Pk OEM (DVD)

1.44Mb Sony Black Floppy Disk Drive OEM £3.69 £4.34

Xclio SuperTower Black Hi-Performance Gaming (w/o PSU) see details - Hi-End

    320 Gb Western Digital WD3200KS Caviar SE16, SATA300, 7200 rpm, 16MB Cache, 8.9 ms

As this weighs in at a staggering £1100 almost. Please can anyone comment on compatability. My main concern is the cooling so the case needs to be decent but also need comments on the PSU being sufficient. Any one out there got these components and can comment on thier stability??
