Fair enough, that card looks like a fairly good deal for a decent dual-port NIC IMO; I don't think you'd get too much cheaper than that, even a single Intel CT costs from £20-£30.

    Re: HP N36L Microserver - £100

Anyone managed to get streaming over http working on WHS 2011?

Got the ports forwarded (80/443/the rdp and 4125 or one around that area)

load it all up, the window loads then it closes

Is this deal just from specific retailers? Just found the server on this site:
    http://www.ballicom.co.uk/systems/pe...z.p610778.html

£150 with £100 cashback sounds like a steal?

    Re: HP N36L Microserver - £100

WOL not working under Tg3 driver on Linux despite setting ethtool. Seems to be a common issue with this Broadcom chipset kinda mucked up my plans.

my experience so far with the HP Microserver blogged here

Just picked one of these little beauties up and took a 4GB upgrade at the same time.

EDIT: Ooops, didnt realise offering items for sale was against the forum rules. Sorry!

    Re: HP N36L Microserver - £100

Thoroughly confused as i've ordered 4 4tb WD EARS drives for WHS 2011, do I need to set jumpers or align them or are they fine as they come for 2011?

    Re: HP N36L Microserver - £100

    4TB?

AFAIK WHS 2011 should align them properly as-is, the jumpers are for older OSes like XP that don't align properly.

Yeah, WHS 2011 is built on Server 2008 so it's fine.

quick update, got my 4x 2tb drives yesterday and ran the raid 5 setup at around 11pm, came back from work and its still resynching. Any ideas how long the raid 5 build time is?

If you intend you use any of them cards with ESXi you made very basic mistake of not checking the HCL... Neither is on the list.

Software RAID with such a weak CPU? Gonna take days I reckon...

    Hi spoon
    NC107i is the embedded NIC
I will be using the box for shared storage OF

I will get a USB stick and put ESXi to see whether it recognises+supports JF even though it isn't on the HCL

    thanks for posting

EDIT: Just checked on openfiler and it is Intel 82571EB controller which is in the HCL - NC360T is just the HP name I guess
