You are getting your moneys back from HP not from the place you buy from.

It takes 28 days for the cheque to come through I believe.

On the Crescent subject, I paid for the delivery and it arrived next day by 8AM [ordered 5PM day before]

Hi Pardal51, I'd be REALLY keen to find out how you got the refund! I'm in your same situation, 3 year old XPS M1330, out of warranty, have had three separate motherboard replacements.

In case anyone is interested, FreeNAS 8 (final) has literally just been released.

    Re: HP N36L Microserver - £100

Update on my order - just got a phone call saying the order hasn't been dispatched because I've not made the Paypal payment.
The thing being, I paid by debit card and they have already taken the money (on a side note the money was gone by the next day - companies like Scan usually hold it then take it a while later). If they had a problem they should have contacted me, or how about check their damn order records to see I've already paid!!
I'll see what happens, if they can get the order out to me tomorrow, to redeem themselves, I might accept that. Any more faffing about and they can shove the order and I'll go to eBuyer like I should have to begin with. And as it stands I would recommend anyone about to take the plunge to spend a bit extra and do the same. I know some people have been OK with Crescent, but as they say first impressions count and this is about the worst first impression I've ever had from a company - essentially taking over £220 and doing a runner - not impressed!

It doesn't look like Crescent do a whole lot. I emailed them after the City Link debacle (I know, which debacle, you're all thinking), and they said they would pass on my comments to "their supplier".

Sounds like they are drop shippers maybe?

    Re: HP N36L Microserver - £100

eBuyer got the HP Microserver for £239.98 if you guys fancy it:

    http://www.ebuyer.com/product/253305

Crescent to it for £221.81 + £6.99 next day delivery.

I didn't have any problems personally, maybe because I paid for next day delivery? Not sure.

With or without paying for next day delivery, it's nice if the company actually remember to send what you've paid for and not accuse you of not paying.

    Re: HP N36L Microserver - £100

Apparently, Crescent have a live chat thing - any idea where? They're not picking up again and I get the feeling they will ignore emails.

Edit: Finally got through, not looking forward to the phone bill but apparently it's been dispatched and will be here tomorrow. I can't say I'll be buying anything from here in a hurry again though!
On a side note it seems their customer services consists of one overworked lady, I've not spoken to anyone else and it seems you get booted from the call if you wait longer than ten minutes so you have to pay the connection fee when you re-dial. The 'quick order' hotline is a bit of a fib...

Sorry for posting non-related HP Mircroserver info.

Please note that I am not affiliate to this website whatsoever:

Just read the threads and follow the step-by-step guide. Be persistent, because in the end you will get your refund.

I hope this help other owners of laptops with the defective Nvidia chip.

Chat is always offline. I was about to place an order then read water's comments.

They also charge 1.5% for credit card payments (I hate companies that do so - although using a 1% cashback credit card). Final price is £225.13 inc VAT with free 5-7 working day delivery

I will wait for water's further comments and maybe place an order next week with them.

I guess this is always the situation. They provide the cheapest product because they dropship, because they charge a credit card fee, and because next-day delivery is an added extra.

For what I paid, I'm glad I didn't go elsewhere tbh

Did you order from Crescent Jim?

    /EDIT

It appears you have. Did you have any problems with them delivering using free shipping [assuming you've used that]?
