    News - Good Old Games to offer classic PC titles for download

    A new on-demand service is to offer classic PC titles in the form of DRM-free downloads for as little as $5.99.

    To anyone who has never played Freespace:

    You must buy it. You REALLY must buy it.

    Oh, and once you've bought it, get fs2_open, apply all the new effects packs, and play it through... amazing.

    I got a beta access key from them yesterday but had no time to log in and have a look; Funnily enough I was busy re-playing System Shock 2!

    I see 2 I fancy straight away. Giants : Citizen Kabuto and also Sacrifice. Both great games, I have the box for Sacrifice but can't find the disk!!!

    No, it's more in the vein of Wing Commander - ie scripted missions.

    BUT they are awesome. It's one of the most atmospheric games I've played, of any genre. Creeping through a nebula, sensors severely hampered.. then..

    Finally got my access code, so currently downloading Fallout and Freespace 2.
    Can't think of a better way of spending £6 at the moment...

    Noticed that you get MP3s of the soundtrack available to download as well - nice touch
