Cool round-up of the Atom processors. More concise than Wikipedia.
Thanks given.
Being able to see and compare all the products "on one page" (without scrolling) was helpful.
I think I finally understand Intel's Atom line reasonably well.
Currently on a Nano by Via right now, it has upscaled itself to 1.6ghz, pretty tasty stuff. Honestly you'd be suprised. These 2.0ghz Atoms will be great!
*3dcandy sounds like a record*
Samsung NC-20!
Old puter - still good enuff till I save some pennies!
I've been meaning to ask this for a while now.. can anyone offer a performance comparison between the Atom processors and the Pentium Ms?
I know the Pentium was a ridiculous CPU in terms of running efficiently, so what I'm curious about is whether the Atom at least comes close to it. Because frankly, if the Atom is a clock-for-clock less efficient CPU, we should just demand some Pentium Ms in our netbooks, no?
Unless intel release a new chipset to go with the Z series the increased CPU efficiency will be mostly thrown away. Most atom based system using onboard graphics use about 30-40W. If the CPU is using 8W at most, where do you think all the energy is going?
I saw an advert on a leaflet where a chick was putting a Sony Vaio atom based netbook in her backpocket of her jeans.
Is it that small! ?
These atom processors seem to be getting more appealing. Might have to look at a netbook sporting one for college.
