What data do three offer? I just can't seem to find out on their website. They have some tariffs with only data and no voice or texts, but I want those too

I'm looking for unrestricted surfing, not the walled garden thing they used (or still?) have.

So how much cost for how much data?

I voted 3 due to the data/next generation content that the other providers are slowly starting to provide.

I've had hours of fun on my mates 3 phone, browsing and MSN'ing and he's always got full signal as well

Re: Which UK network is leading the pack or is on the ball?

T-Mobile seems to be doing well in the poll and I do like their data deals. I currently have both my work and personal mobiles on Vodafone.
Next month,I might put my work mobile on to T-Mobile and see how it goes, fingers crossed all will go well and maybe in March 08 I'll bring my personal number across. I can't really fault Vodafone to be honest though the coverage is good with is primarly the thing that concerns me with T-Mobile and maybe customer service. I've been of the opinion that if something works, I don't mind paying for it with Vodafone, hopefully T-Mobile will turn out to be the same.

Vodafone... seeing as Orange, 02, T-mobile and 3 are all foreign firms.

In terms of branding of phones who is on the ball these days? I have a pet hate about heavy branding and crippling of a phone's functionality. So who is the best to buy from, bar sim-free?

I've heard that O2 add little branding, vodaphone add the most apparently.

T-mobile have very good rates for PAYG.

Orange have just given me a decent retention deal and I've had no issues with them before. Plus Orange Wednesday is a huge bonus!

Re: Which UK network is leading the pack or is on the ball?

Sorry to bump and old thread/poll, but i'm haven't decided which network to go for yet!
I'm still on Vodafone with both my work and personal mobiles but both now out of contract, so I'm free to go at the drop of a hat.
I've been leaning to towards O2 as the best deal choice etc or Tmobile since they have good data deals but the coverage I've heard is the worst of the bunch.
I've also heard O2 has the iPhone contract exclusive for 18 months so from last August and theres a 3G phone iPhone coming, *maybe*go for a 3G iPhone on O2? Does anybody have anymore thoughts?

Re: Which UK network is leading the pack or is on the ball?

The iPhone is a great piece of kit. 3 of my workmates have them, and wont stop banging on about it. The real choice is whether you want everything on the o2 iPhone contract, or is it worth jailbreaking it and simply getting the work arounds for the you need.

All of my workmates have jailbroken theirs, but i think its because they wanted to do it, more than the fact it would be beneficial for them too.

Re: Which UK network is leading the pack or is on the ball?

    Il give a slight update.

Basically right now my personal phone is with Vodafone, and I've never had a problem with them, service wise or reliability etc. (Might also be due to the fact that the Company is based in Newbury and has its world headquarters here )

My work phone is with Orange, and again I've not had any problems, although the signal seems to fluctuate alot more than my Vodafone phone?

+ Finally my 3 Mobile Broadband Card, this has been a life saver recently and has been excellent, getting coverage/signal in all but the most remote places.

    im with O2.

the phone is nearly untouched regarding branding & the data rates for £35 + above can be free as a bolt on

Tbh I think the 3g iphone could be on O2 very soon (if not immediately) after the US released.

Re: Which UK network is leading the pack or is on the ball?

I voted for O2. The reason is that they have offered one of the best value data bolt-ons for pre-pay customers like me. £7.50 and I get 200MB which I never fully use. Sure 200MB isn't a huge amount, but the competition has floundered in that area. Note that I have a 2.5G phone so any 3G data offerings haven't appeared on my map yet
