My daughter has been braindrained to OZ and left me a few thousand pop tures recorded in mp4a (it says!)
I Have a HUGE pop juke box ALL recorded in .wma (var bit rate) and mp3 (abt 10% of them)
I find (trial and error - the ONLY way!) that SOMETIMES mediaplayer (on autoiplay) CAN play mp4as.
Also I can COPY them into my computer.
When they refuse to play (99% refuse to) and I hit the itunes button itunes wakes up warning that:
Regis settings used by itunes drivers for importing and burning CDs and DVDs are missing
This can happen as a result of installing other cd burning software
Please reinstall itunes
Question 1:
So if I do that what will itunes bugger up as tit for tat?
If I simply proceed it opens up itunes – able to play music in a very “itunes way” and highly selective.
For example it decides to open up sandie shaw “(puppet on a string) and can play all 19 songs of that album.
But FROM my .wma data base. It gets their names and durations right but describes each as mp4a and thinks each is more bytes than the wma file it is playing.
Why pick on poor Sandie shaw!
Question 2:
How to get the mp4as into my juke box
Question 3:
As I NEVER use ipod stuff, how much space will itunes WASTE if I download it?
Question 4:
As it is ALREADY THERE (but for the bits it SAYS are deleted) is it even POSSIBLE for me to get back the space it is hogging?
Many thanks for your help and interest
