    Video Editing Program

    Hey guys and gals,
    I am in need of a video editing program that can rotate video clips. I've got a small .avi file that i need to rotate but have no idea where to start or if its even possible.
    Video file was taken on a Casio Exilim EX-Z1000.
    Thanks if anyone can shed any light.

    There is this:
    http://www.jahshaka.org/

    It's an open source video editing program - no idea if it rotates video but it's free so why not try it out.

    AVISynth and don't be put off it isn't gui based. There's /loads/ of documentation & the 'script' to do the above will only have two or three lines in it. There's also lots of help available in various forums. This is the specific function you'll want.

    In fact after installing the program, if you create a text file called RotatedVideo.avs containing:

    AVISource("path to avi")
    TurnLeft() # or maybe TurnRight()

    And then give that file as input to your video encoder, you'll probably be sorted.

    You're welcome

    AVISynth is incredibly powerful - you can perform virtually any video editing operation with it. I've not attempted anything particularly sophisticated (I mostly use it for cropping, resizing, ivtc/deinterlacing, denoising - that sort of stuff), but for that alone it's been invaluable. It's also a good way to allow gui tools to cope with formats they couldn't otherwise handle.

    I'm looking forward to version 3 as that will be cross platform, however as this needs a total rewrite & is being done by another team we'll probably have a long wait.
