Kaspersky Internet Security 6 or 7 / Vista x64 issue?

I am having an issue with vista x64 and Kaspersky Internet Security.

When a virus scan is running, the system grinds to a halt with a mixture of massive RAM usage and massive disk usage.

This happens if I have 2GiB or 4GiB of RAM installed, and my hard disks are 6x in RAID 5, so shedloads of bandwidth, and I have even been experimenting with different stripe sizes, but to no avail.

So, what I would like to know is, does anyone else have this issue with vista x64 and kaspersky internet security 6 or 7, and did you manage to fix it, and how?

Running 7 on Vista 32 bit and I'll be honest - it's a fair old RAM hog...

Yep, to the point of it being pretty fugly to use when a scan is running?

Yep, fugly as sin. Also has a tendency to much Windows Mail up too...

well, I found that not to be the case for me, although that downloadable .reg file did do the trick for the winmail thing

Hmmm - linky? Winmail is fine with any other security suite, it just seems to have slow IMAP access to my mailserver (located on my LAN) with Kaspersky...

Ta, but I don't think that's my issue. I'm badgering kaspersky about it, but may well just go back to Avast!

How are you badgering them? I'll badger them as well

I bought the oem version, but not installed it yet because of the 6 month trial.

Whilst it doesn't help either of you, I've had no issues using KIS7 on Vista 32-bit. I'll be using it on 64-bit soon though, so will report back.
