Just on a side note.. with an X2 and dual core CPU.. Would i be right in assuming that i should run the GPU client and a single CPU client? Its what I'm doing now, but no idea if its the best way..

You should probably try the SMP client if it works for you then it should produce more points per day than any other client. Give it a go and see how many points you get Only issue with it is that you need to be running at least 8 hours a day to meet the deadlines (with a slower duel core). If you have a HD 2xxx or HD 3xxx then you can try GPU2 which gives good points per day but has very fast units so deadlines are of little to no importance.

i would go with gpu2 + single client myself. as you should be seeing higher ppd's with those combined than just an smp client.

(considering 3 cores at 3Ghz gets me about 1900ppd, while gpu2 gets me 1600 or so)

ooh while i remember. the gpu2 wu's are going to be changing to ones that will tax the gpu more, so we should see running the gpu2 client being "worth" more pretty soon. because at the minute you need something silly like a 5ghz cpu core to fully utilize a 3870.

Thinking of a Q9300 / Q9450 actually.. but i dont think they can hit 4 Ghz + like my current baby
