Hello,
i did a fresh install of vista about 2 days ago. i used vlite to intergrate service pack 1
i had to delete the recycle bins on my other partitions to make them work correctly.
the slow file copying issue is still there.
dvd's dont always play in windows media player.
i right clicked on my drive selected my region applyed. reboot just to make sure it took effect.
the dvd played fine.
but later on i got the error message again and not the dvd wont play. error
plays fine in vlc media player.
i wil google the error message later.
sometimes the dvd plays fine in windows media player, sometimes it comes up with the error and sometimes it just has green fuzz and lines but has sound.
i have just purchased PowerDVD SE for Windows Vista.
i installed it rebooted. the only sign of it is an empty folder in program files. no entrie in add/remove programs
its not in plugins in windows media player.
ive emailed them. hpopefully i havent wasted my money.
so genrally vista works fine.
the file copy issue is a big one and should of been fixed before the OS is shipped since all OS's have to be able to copy files.
C: was 15GB without any software installed!
when i turned off system restore it went down to 12gb
12gb without any software installed is completely crazy.

running xp and vista still not sure which i prefer yet. That test they did on the people who did not like vista reminds me of one they did on beer they gave a list of beers to people and asked them to rank them. Stella Artois came out top they then did a blind drinks taste and stella was down near the bottom. just proves a bit of hype does wonders for a product.
