    Getting files back....

    Hi.

    I wanted to copy all my old files onto my new 60gb hard drive. So i plugged it into the old computer, and went to copy across the files, some 13gb. But all i found was a FOUND.000 file, which i cannot open. It says it is in use, however this hard drive does not have the windows install on it.

    Is there anyway to get my data back?

    Cheers
    Will

    found.000 is data recovered by scandisk

    Perhap you're old drive was formated in NTFS or Fat32 and you plugged it into you old computer which had 95/98/se/me and was formated to FAT16 or 32.

    Just guessing, what do you think happened then blockers?

    Well there were 3 hard drives involved i think.
    1 = 60gb, with win2k (NTFS)
    2 = 20gb, with win2k (NTFS)
    3 = 15gb, just a blank (FAT32)

    I copied the files to the 15gb, and the 20gb. I unplugged my drive and booted up with the 20gb and 15gb. However all i could see on the 15gb was the FOUND.000 file...

    I cant remember the exact situation, but it was something along the lines of that. Dont know if i told it boot some and ther was a conflict with drivers for the motherboard, and that some how corrupted it.

    After a format its now ok, except i lost my data.
    No doubt it will happen again....
