there is another MS page describing it, it would appear the OS is working as designed. If the IDE channel is not working then I would remove cables from it and deactivate it in the bios if you can. It is doubtful that it is causing the server to freeze up. Appears that the bios is not compatible, I would look on the bios manufacturers page for mention of it, just keep an eye out there for a revision that addresses it.

The Bios you have is not compliant and is in need of an update by the manufacturer according to the MS article there. Basically you need to keep an eye out for a BIOS revision which adresses this issue on the motherboad manufacturers website, as you have already updated recently and it did not seem to help, have a look at the bios revision release notes that you recently installed and see is it supposed to address the issue.

I have the latest, proper BIOS. If the server doesn't freeze I don't care about these messages. If it freezes up again I'll report back
