Windows Media Player hell!

Windows media player 9 has recently (even after a reinstall) been playing up, after all, its not likely to take around 10 seconds to enable mini mode, and then the audio continue and then the program stop responding!
I could use a possible solution to solve WMP 9 Crashes, as stated i have new speakers, i have a DFX Plugin (full version) and thats never been the prob b4, and finally i have recently updated to latest nvidia drivers, are there any known issues of these with wmp or anything??! help!!

there's just one known issue with windows media player: it's utter utter ****

ok, there's the million security & stability issues too, but with no coherent bugzilla there's no easy way to track those

Real One player seems ok i guess but i like DFX!!

depends what you want!

i use winamp 5 for managing my music library, and Media Player Classic to play back videos, VCDs, DVDs, etc
