Needed a 3D beast. The Monitor is great, crystal clear and great colors and it's designed to run @ 1600x1200 only (every other res tends to be blocky). Only real problem is it only came in white .
another 1600*1200*32 here

1280x1024 32bit on an Iiyama Prolite E431s 17" TFT
1024x768 32bit on a LG Studioworks 17" CRT
800x600 32bit on an old Dell 15" CRT
Talking of stupid resolution my archaeology dept brought a load of Dell workstations last year with lovely 19 TFTs. These were meant to be used for graphic design/autocad/photoshop/illustrator etc and they were all set to a screen res of 800x600 . Our tutor was going on about how brilliant the screens were .
In the end I just had to change them all up to 1280x1024, I couldnt bear it any longer
1280x1024 32bit, 60Hz on Iiyama VisionMaster 1403.

Sorry MS after realising that my 600cc bike was cheaper new than my PC (and the monitor was half of the price ) I don't think I could ever spend that much on a PC again...
Well due to the lovelyness of this old Packard Bell 17", I run at 1024x768 at 85Hz, with 32bit colour depth.
If it supported decent refresh rates (i.e 85 or over) at resolutions such as 1152x864 or 1280x960 I'd use them. But only 75 and 60Hz respectively. And I can't stand low refresh rates. Besides, 1024x768 is fine.
Once I get an Iiyama VMPro 454 I'll use 1600x1200 at 100Hz or whatever silly refresh rates that monitor supports

I'm using a Iiyama VM Pro 514 (22") and although 1600x1200 (@ 100hz or 85hz) is clearer than it used to be on my old 19" VMPro it's still not as crystal clear as 1280x1024 which is much easier on the eyes - tends to look clearer at 100Hz than 120Hz where it just looks marginally less sharp.
If you are working with graphics though 1600x1200 or above is a god-send.
1600x1200 is very nice for some games, but too high for most of the games I'm currently playing - 1024x768 is the preferred res for optimum fps/IQ.
