Might I suggest this channel if you want to find decent VPN reviews. Some are a bit of an eye opener.

Re: Which VPN to go for?

Just to update, I’ve now switched to TorGuard from Nord. Mainly due to dedicated streaming IP & good speeds.

For those interested, I recently started using Proton VPN.

A brief, light-weight initial review in the Networking forum here: Proton Thread
No trees were harmed in the creation of this message. However, many electrons were displaced and terribly inconvenienced.

Yet another one for Nord here... for the price, range of servers and the speeds capable it is just the best out there imo.

Really? I think the performance/connection speed on Nord servers has dropped significantly over the past six months.

If I was shopping for a VPN right now, I'd be looking elsewhere.

Re: Which VPN to go for?

Sharing a NordVPN acc with a friend, ever since I got DDoSed for pissing off a modder in GTA Online, which is peer to peer ie everyone in a session can see your IP/port and knock you offline if they're particularly pathetic... except when you're using a VPN
Tried multiple VPNs before (Cyberghost, Betternet (shame on me), Avira, Outfox, Vypr), usually via trial versions/promo codes and they all either had a massive catch or speeds were abysmal.

Speeds on Nord are... Okay I guess. Usually nowhere near my line speed (100/40mbps) and pretty inconsistent both in speed and ping, but I've yet to have a connection drop out entirely or get too slow to be usable.
Can't say much about pricing since my friend offered me to use his acc for free (there's a limit of 5 simultaneous devices/connections, and he's using at most two so...) but so far this has been a much better experience than anything I've tried before, so I wouldn't mind paying for it if he kicks me off or cancels his plan or whatever

Every cheap vpn sucks big time, no netflix support and many down times.

VPN unlimited, you can get very cheap and lifetime license. Decent speed , even for watching 1080p

Re: Which VPN to go for?

I'm using Private Internet Access (PIA) and I've never had any major problems and it's only $6.95 a month and the cheapest deal I could find.

I'm a NordVPN user that moved from Private Internet Access.

Much nicer UI and faster too!

Nord VPN is audited. It is difficult to say which VPNs don't monitor your traffic.

Re: Which VPN to go for?

Nice thread with some good recommends, I've been with PIA for nearly 3 years now on a recurring annual offer. It's expired a week ago and was wondering about looking for a new provider.

a quick scan through the post here and looks like Nord might be a good option, PIA for the most part was cheap and reliable although I found the speed to take a bit of a nose dive at times, however it was only costing me around £25 a year.

Whats the best price anybody has found for Nord?

Re: Which VPN to go for?

Another NordVPN user here, i've been with them for just over a year and its been decent. They seem to do deals all the time which makes them quite competitive. Not sure if I agree on how they market their software using "time limited deals" tactic which is BS because the countdown timer always resets...
