Whats under the covers going to be more interesting, what exactly is the difrence between longhorn and XP, and when are they going to give it a proper name?
Well the difference between XP and Longhorn is that Longhorn is going to be using a lot of managed .NET code. ANother thing is that the sourcebase used for LH is Windows 2003 Server SP1. So it is already pretty robust but full of kludge. My problem with LH is that I dont understand why they are not writing a new kernel...I want to know whether they fixed up the kernel and got rid of excess crap...and I want to know if DRM is seriously going to implemented. I dont like DRM being built into an OS
M4 were previously not gunna release Longhorn and the next windows would be the one after Longhorn. Now this is changed. Longhorns not seen as a major change, i think the windows after it may have a new kernal.

I'll never love something like 2k
we used to have winme on an old pc.. wasn;t connected to the internaet but used to crash for apperntly random reasons.. and we had to leave off for sevralk days to fix it.. hope longhorn ain't like that.. the advantage of longhorn a=seems to be th avalon engine and th fact that the visual stye support .png transpaerncy.. in other words cosmetic changes
AMD3000+ ATIX800XL + GBNF44x mobo.. all at stock because they're good enough atm + CA A1 amp-->Mission 73S Loigtech MX1000 + 1GB ram + 1/3 TB HD array
Wintendo XP + Linux (when it works) .. just incase you were wondering
I think it will be worth the upgrade, especailly for 64 bit users.
Xp x64 i wouldn't touch with a barge pole, its dire.
