Trig tells the truth. I suppose the difference will be under the bonnet. Tiger 10.4.2 is very nice though
Not around too often!
I agree with Trig it just looks like XP skinned to me too.
Main Rig: i2600k@4.3Ghz/ASUS P8P67 PRO/MSi GTX580/16GB Mushkin/HAF X/Noctua NH-D14
Everything has bugs.
lol, wondered how long it would take for people to agree with me, its not a case of what it looks like its what it does under the surface that counts and tbh what do u need to do to the XP GUI, not a lot really so why bother wasting time rewritting that when theres more important things to do?!
Screenshots are great but fancy graphics hardly the most important part of a new OS release......I reckon if MS released the exact same OS with a new interface design, people would be convinced it's a great new product and buy it in bucket loads!!

hehe Claudia, such an unelegant name for the theme and background
i have been won over
heres a thought for all of you with a linux interest
When sun Launched JDS it had a Windows XP style desktop with Recycle Bin, My Documents and My Computer, by DEFAULT (default being the key word here). Sun explained that this was done to give Windows users a familier feel when moving to JDS so they wouldn't spend time looking for icons that had different names.
MS took them to court and won saying things like "My Computer" where associated with Windows so could not be used by a rival to promote rival OS's, the snag was as long as the OS default was not my computer, the install script could change it to "my computer" before the user even logged on. A shallow victory that caused Sun to take a financial hit. Sun's response was to change the "My Computer" default to "This Computer", and accounting for this both gnome and KDE (I think I've not checked yet) changed their "My computer" style icon to "Computer".
I notice in the bottom screenshot has the my computer icon as "computer" in what seems to now be "open source" standard.
I wonder if this is in response to the Open Source desktops / Jun JDS desktop takeup by people like the NHS in the UK, or is this just an unfortuante co-incidence in the screen shot.
question is if is the default OS setting, should Sun/Open Source community respond ? should Sun Counter Sue as MS saying this was their Windows trademark seems void if they have chaged it (they played on it being a massive part of the selling point of their OS)
You see where I'm going with this.
It is Inevitable.....
