MOLLY AND POPPY!
AvG seems to run along happily without any problems. No idea how good it is in truth though because I think it's only ever come across one or two infected files...it did detect one immediately after I'd finished downloading an installer from fraps...
Another handy program is spybot - not antivirus as such but anti-malware. It does come with an app that monitors changes to the registry and suchlike which is handy (annoying when installing ATi drivers, but otherwise handy
Forgetting price for a moment, which AV package would you say is the most effective at its job? I'm not too fussed about how heavy on the system it is, I just wondered which one has the best success rate and which has the most up to date definitions.
Thanks for any replies, and remember, 'money no object'

AVAST for me for their x64/amd64 version
When I switched from XP to XP64, I copied all my files across to my RAID.....while copying Avast picked up 8 viri that NAV 7 and 8 and SAV 9 never detected.

Sorry to revive a dying thread, but I'm just wondering..... what is the most advanced antivirus on the market? I am even talking enterprise level stuff, which is the very best
New Sig on the Way...
The _very_ best has been proven to be Kaspersky or a one I had never heard of, MKS_Vir
Craig
I like Grey M@a also used Command Antivirus by Authentium. I've never has any problems with it. It's not free but with updated def's release as often as they do (daily or greater) they are really on the ball. There customer services is excellent! You email then say 9 in the morning and you'll probably have an answer/reply by the afternoon... or sooner... not likely to happen with norton or macafee
Compared to MacAfee or Norton it wipes the floor! it's performs so much better.
For enterprise level system, most software you can just get the administration point like MacAfee's ePolicy Orchestrator (and there are similar products for most big name compaies). I know that Authentium have one for Command Anti Virus!
They do the usual things like being able to push def updates from a central source (ie server or some workstation on the network). But have a read or speak to customer service

Hello, Has anyone here used “PC-cillin Internet Security 12” at only £40.97 on Amazon I am thinking of buying it.
It has “Anti-Phishing – New!, Comprehensive Virus Security, Enhanced Spyware Detection & Removal, Home Network Control – New!, Improved Parental Controls, Improved Spam Filtering, Personal Firewall, Vulnerability Assessment – New!, Wi-Fi Intrusion Detection – New!”
I'm using PC-cillin Internet Security 2005, which is updated to the v12 engine. Its good - tends to panic a bit, but scans pop3 e mails etc. It is a 12 month licence though, so I suspect the upgrades will stop next Jan until I shell out for another year!
Im Using CA Etrust EZ Antivirus. If you follow the links on microsoft, security at home, you can download a 12 month fully working free trial. I previously had norton...but it has to be said....that was one of the worst decisions I have ever made. Computer Associates AV is probably not the best, but it has nowhere near the amount of bloatedness/rubbish that comes with norton, and I've been using it for about 9 months now, without a single problem
I use Norton AV but am so used to it and lazy to change to anything else.
f-secure is the very best nothing can beat it
when your all writing about AVG being good/bad is it fair to assume your mostly talking about freeagv or does that included the corperate product also
It is Inevitable.....
