    How to clear "task bar"

    Hi guys,

B4 I go on, I am in no way a genius, so bear with me.

I need a bit of help with my machine.

I am running a 1.5 ghz machine with XP pro

I need to clear a icon or two from the bar down in the bottom right corner, think this is called the task bar.

Also my machine seems to be slow going to different sides on the internet. Also seems a little slow between programs. This is relatively new problem, so if anyone can help, I would appreciate it.

    Thx

    Polle

the bottom right area is called the "System Tray"

you can hide icons by rigfht-clickong on the taskbar (the bar across the bottom of the screen", choosing properties, customise, and setting things to "always hide"

removing them completely is on a per-application basis - the icons signify applications running, varying from, say, winamp to components of Quicktime whihc steal file associations from other apps. you'll need to look into whihc you want to get rid os & how they run themselves, to prevent them from doing so.

LMAO I think he had a few problems with regards typing that last post

He mis-spelt "which" which is why you saw "whihc" which could confuse things! Wow I used Which like 4 times in that sentence

Anyway yeah you obviously have installed a fair few programs and they start up one way or another with Windows. You can usually close them by right clicking each one and clicking Close or Exit or whatever, or look in your start menu > Startup folder to see if any of them start from there.
