About LinkBacksWell - I was using AVG (for about 4 years) - never had a virus picked up so have removed it now and am not using anything.
Only use web based email and keep up to date with patches.

I Use Bitdefender9 , it isnt that well heard of but it is great IMO, far better than norton and Mcafee
bit defender wont run in safe mode which is really stupid - and it has loads of annoying little things - it may be better with confuigring but so far im not liking it (running demo)

AVG Free Edition here,
Small memory footprint - regular updates - no constant nag requesters.
