I've just switched from Norton 2005 to Mcafee. Norton was becoming to memory hogging!!!!
Just wondered what you are using.

You might want to add the other AV progs to the poll list in order to get a better idea of who uses what
(agree with Norton being a memory hogging/cpu hogging piece of bloatware)
I could list loads. If you use something different please post
I believe i read recently that NOD32 is currently the best updated/small unintrusive virus scanner available.
And from personal experience i can agree to that, beats things like AVG to bits. As for the "list" you've got i'm afraid to say i'm staying well away from the larger companies, they tend to be much much slower to respond to threats than the smaller groups out there.
Plus they tend to be cheaper and more robust overall too

I use CAs ez Antivirus. Its the 4th package I have tried in a year and seems pretty good if you are looking for an unobtrusive checker. (the others tried were avg, antivir, and something ntl were handing out for free)
avast
Avast
Symantec Antivirus Corporate Edition is what i use - it's small and unobtrusive and lacks the stupid bling/useless functionality of others whilst still being a 'big name' derived product. At the office we use McAfee Enterprise 7.0 which is rubbish (or at least it is the way its configured here)
Anyone using Bitdefender 9? I'm just trying it out now...

The Interface might not be up to the standards of say Norton or Symantec, but what this beast lacks in graphics eye candy it makes up for in scanning power and malware detection.
I've got BD9 on 3 of the systems at home now and its perfect, and never screws the network like Norton did.
AVG here.
Yeah i really like it. Interface is basic like you say, but thats what i'm looking for. It's got some great features in it!!!!Originally Posted by Lee @ SCAN
Gonna try NOD32 now.....
AVG works fine for me!
i use NOD32 - its just so good, it just sits there quietly doing what an anti virus program is supposed to do
