    Re: Champions league Thread

I think Man u, Chelski probably would be the better final to watch footballing wise, and UTD and Pool final would have been the most nerv recking game for both players and Fans, both probably being scared sh*tless of losing,

But i did enjoy last nights game, was end to end stuff

English Football Rox your Sox tbh

    Re: Champions league Thread

    ...now the results surprised me.

I should have gone to pub to watch this rather than play Warsow last night.

I thought it would be a boring affair with both sides not wanting to venture too far incase of conceding a goal (like the previous encounters).

Huge congrats goto Chelsea for finally beating Liverpool in a CL semi! It's a psychological win for them.

The final should be awesome. Man Utd will want to show that the defeat in the PL against Chelsea was just a one off and Chelsea will want to prove it wasn't.

I feel the final with start of quick, fast paced but tentative...but then all guns blazing as the clock ticks!

I hope Rooney and Vidic are back so Man Utd field their strongest squad and same for Chelsea.

To me, it doesn't really matter who wins as at the end of the day, the current top two PL teams are in the CL final. That speaks volumes of the quality of teams in the PL. Just a shame there aren't more English players in these clubs.

I agree with you on all points but the one above,

the fact is Man U have a Good nucelus of English/Britsh Players ..

Brown, Ferdinand, Neville, Scholes, Carrick , Hargreaves , Rooney, Giggs, Fletcher, O'Gay i mean O'Shea. To which most will be in the ECL Final Squad

I Chelsea no so Much but still the have 3/4 which is still 2/3 more than Arsenal

Infact thats probably more than "most" PL sides, but thats just todays football, not much we can do about that atm.

    Thanks

I heard something about them limiting the amount your foreign players you can buy/use may have been an old wifes tale like...

Im sure whether your a Manc, Scouser or Cockney you would all agree that Mr Blatter is a tool,

Improving the game .... we should start by giving him and Platini the Boot,

But anyway, have no problem with homegrown talent being given a chance, but in todays world of Human rights, i doubt that will ever happen.

    ...
That is quite true, Man Utd do have a collection of fine english football players.

In regards to "improving the game", I have always said to people that the game needs a "sin bin" system for when referees feel the players are not respecting them and their decisions (inclusive of linemen...I mean Assistant Referees). You be rude to the ref, get sent off for about 10-15 minutes. Too often we see players crown round the ref when he makes a big decision. This way, it would keep the yello/red cards for actual foul play of the game and not booking for being rude to the ref.

Anyhow, i divulge, this is CL thread.

The final just can't come round quick enough.

    Predicted score line?

2-1 for Utd (even though I would like to see Chelsea win both CL and PL as Utd have won it too often )

    Agreed

The abandonment of goalline tech was the stupidest move he has made. After years of development, it was finally ready, but then scrapped at the last minute!

Anyways... 2-1 to the mighty reds!

If Blatter/Planktini get their way, i doubt some of those players would be eligible either. English FA not UK FA.
    Giggs - Welsh
    Fletcher - Scot
O'Shea - Irish (not sure which flavour though)

BTW....You may mock Arsenal lack ok English players but we did create Bentley and also we have some EXCEPTIONAL 16-17 year olds coming through.
You have to admit that English players are WAY too expensive. Look at the Darren Bent case and it proves the point. He is poo and was £16million. If he was from anywhere else besides England he wouldve been £2-3 million.
We also created Cashley and his mobile phone. Not to mention in years gone by the likes of Seaman, Adams, Winterburn, Dixon, Wright. Admittedly, not recently but the backbone of our more successful expolits of World Football have an Arsenal backbone. Shame all of the current England players were born without one.

If Wenger thought the English lads were good enough and priced correctly we would have them aswell.

Lets no forget Theo either. In the World Cup campaign that starts soon he is going to be the new Messiah (i hope). He cant be any worse than the so called English (cba as they get too much cash) players in the England team atm.
