    Re: Champions league Thread

Well not the most entertaining match, Man Utd defended well and Barca attacked well but lacked in the last third.

Overall a decent result for Man Utd. The Old Trafford match 'should' be more entertaining, but it could get dicey for us if we concede an early away goal.

Barcelona at times where simply breath-taking. They didnt seem to have that cutting edge though which seems completely crazy when you consider the players on the pitch for them

    Re: Champions league Thread

What a boring game that was! I thought it was worse than the Liverpool vs Chelsea game.

Going off on a tangent here but I think the whole Champions League needs a makeover. The group stages tend to turn into a farce with the better teams qualifying early and then resting all their players for the remaining group stage matches. The knockout stage tends to be filled with mediocre first legs, and the away goal rule in my opinion isn't worth the hassle.

I'd prefer it to be more like the FA Cup, and the European Cup of old, knockout all the way through.

Still, the second legs next week are bound to be better, surely!...?

    lol

Not worried tbh, he will just try that little bit harder at OT, wasnt disappointed with the result, granted we didnt play well at all, but still got a result none the less, i though Barca played well, without really troubling us much,

Can be to harsh on him, as hes still top scorer in the CL so far, so he must be doing something right.

Ronaldo: "I've scored a few penalties in that side but today I didn't score - no problem. Now I'm going to score in Manchester."

Big talk, he'd better score next week! I'd like to see Anderson play next week. I think Scholes is too slow now and Park doesn't have the strength to go up against the likes of Yaya Toure.

    Re: Champions league Thread

'These are the two most potent attacing teams in Europe' stated Alex Ferguson yesterday morning.

We'll Ferguson, not from where i was sat last night. I never expected to see a Man-Yoo side that lacked so much invention or desire to try and win a game.
The negativity was incredible for a team of that calibre (even though i dont like them).
As much as it pains me to say it, but even Liverpool were more entertaining v Chelski. (traditionally drab affair).

Messi ran rings around Evra until he was subbed.
Henry was all over the the United defence when he made an appearance.

Once again we also saw the flaws in Ronaldo's game. He scores for fun in the Premier League but the rumour that he doesnt perform in big games once again was proved correct. The lad totally bottled that penalty. If a so called 'Best Player in The World' cant even hit the target and force the keeper to make a save then he DEFINITELY isn't the best player in the world.
He isnt fit to clean Messi's boots.

All that lacked last night was a Barca goal.

I cant see Barcelona going to OT and not scoring and Man-yoo will then have their hands very full.

Im sorry but Evra had Messi's number 9 times out of 10, the only time messi had influence was when he cut inside and went more central,

Henry had about 3 touches so i would hardly say he was all over lol.

did Maradona miss pens err yes did Pele err yes, i would hardly say hes a bottler,
I would say that UTD V Arsenal is a pressure match, did he score a pen in that match .. err emphatically yes ...
