^^To express the opinion of the unwashed, huddled middle classes that football is a game for girls and overpaid haircuts?

I'm dreadfully sorry for expressing an opinion on an open forum, I'll take my bourgeois views elsewhere and leave you with your cans of Special Brew.

PS My middle class mate is a retired miner, I'll pass that on to him, he'll like that.

No prob bob, I just don't understand the thought process.

You see a thread about the CL final, have nothing to say about the CL final, and yet click on it and post...

You're right but in my defence, boredom is a terrible thing.

edit: PS I do follow the internationals.. sort of.. when my blood pressure allows.

    Re: Glory Glory Man Utd!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bored? Best to post a few borderline off topic posts on HEXUS then.

    Always works for me.

Failing that, you need a picture of Felicity Kendal taken about the time she was in the Good Life, and about 10 minutes...

Anyway, thats the 2nd time I've watched Man U win the CL, and it was pretty much as dramatic as last time, for different reasons.

What it proved above all else is that the Premiership is not just the best league, but by far the most exciting.

Anyone remember the Milan - Inter final? It was so boring.

This one was a great advert for English club football. Goals, red cards, few fights (people want to see this stuff, its all part of the package ) missed chances, hit the post, hit the bar, end to end play, penalties, saves, misses, slips at the last moment, coming back from the death, and finally the biggest team in the world wins the CL.

I'm certainly no fan of Man U, but the Italians, Spanish and Germans have been put in their place.

Man this is genius - how to get from Man U winning the Champion's League to Felicity Kendal in 23 posts.

Anyway awesome game (even though I don't support either team) - it's a testament to the quality of English football to have two of our teams in the final.

I remember that game, the dodgy penalty shoot out. How many yards off the line were the keepers

Your right also about the advert for English football, it had everything to keep any footy fan interested

Good grief I've only just recovered. Can't remember any of the 2nd half. I think that can only be a good thing cause apparently chelsea were the better team. Those penalties were agony, though!

Made a bit of an ass of myself afterwards though. Ended up, like any english football fan should after a win in europe, pissed up in a fountain in st. anne's square

    Re: Glory Glory Man Utd!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was a strange game, regarding who was lucky.

First half Chelsea were well lucky, no arguments. Man U started stronger, went ahead, and had chances, good ones, to go 2 up. If they did, it was game over. Then late on, a nothing shot hits Rio on the back, bounces into Lampards path, van der Sar slips, and its 1-1.

9 times out of 10, a first half like that would end 2-0 to Man U and its probably game over.

Then after the break Chelsea come out better, and its Man U who are lucky not to go behind, Lampard hits the bar, and Chelsea look more likely.

So come extra time, both teams are lucky not to have lost really, and I think pens was a good end.

When Ronaldo missed though and Terry had a pen to win the champions league, I would have put my house on it going in.

Mind you, that always happens with English teams in the CL final. I would have put my house on Bayern winning it in '99 with hardly any time left, and on Milan winning it in '05 when they were 3-0 at half time.
