Apparently so, but that was according to the Sun.... who's stories generally aren't exactly built on solid foundations. Better than the Daily Fail though.

Not a hope in hell that they've offered him £160,000 per week though. They can't afford anything like that. Even if Man U didn't have it, they would make the money somehow just to avoid him going to 'Pool anyway.

I'd love him to join though. All the energy and determination of Kuyt, but he can kick the ball too.

Re: Premier League Transfers Summer 2009

Good to see a bit of chat going on here!

    Manchester United:
Not a lot needs to change, unless players leave. If Tevez does go then they'll need slightly more experienced backup than Welbeck and Macheda. If Ronaldo goes they'll have to buy big also, but who would want to leave a team doing so well?

    Arsenal:
Really need to find someone to fill the gap left by Gilberto and Flamini as they've suffered without a holding player. Why they bought Silvestre I do not know, but a strengthening in that position is also needed, most likely Brede Hangeland from Fulham.

    Liverpool:
Reportedly interested in Tevez, but I'm not sure he'd fit in. They already have Kuyt, but use him on the wing instead of up with Torres. We all know how well Robbie Keane did there this year. I think the priority for Rafa is to gain a little strength in depth.

    Chelsea:
They have a good squad in general, though they could probably do without Drogba and his attitude and replace him with a partner for Anelka. Any additions would depend on the football philosophy of the new manager.

Not sure if I want Ade to go, although if he does we have plenty of options upfront.

Hangerland is a name that has been linked with the Arsenal by the press recently. However I read on some blog that he will sign a new deal with Fulham as they are in the Europa League this season. Well done to Fulham

And there are the usual links to almost every Ligue 1 player and Arsenal, although I wouldnt mind getting Benzema

Re: Premier League Transfers Summer 2009

I think Benzema would be a great fit at Arsenal, and the chances of Peter Kenyon getting his way and signing Kaka have just gone up exponentially with Ancelotti in charge.

Tickled me - but hindsight is a wonderful thing

So Real ahve got their man, but doyou think Kaka is the oen to take them back to the top or does more repair need doing? Also in the telegraph today they were saying Spurs & Fulham (i think) are after Ruud - madness.

I think Valencia will end up at old trafford, not sure much else will happen unless sales are made.

Ronaldo wont go whilst Fergie is in charge,

Tevez will stay so no need to buy another forward,

United need more experienced mid field. This weakness was really shown in the champions league final.

Re: Premier League Transfers Summer 2009

Man Utd's centre midfield is a tricky one. It appears they need a real creative goalscorer kinda player, such as lampard, gerrard, iniesta, fabregasc.. Almost every top team has one and whilst they have no chance of getting any of them I just listed would SAF actually want to replace carrick/anderson/fletcher?

I dont think its experience they need, its a bit of flair/creativity that we are lacking imo.
