Also owwwww.
Nice, congrats.
I've been lazy since Sept, then extra lazy when it started being dark at 5 as I could no longer do my 15mile off-road cycle home from work.
Got Dirty Weekend and another Tough Mudder both in May so need to get back on the wagon

What're those like? I suspect that I'd not have the upper body strength to do them.
Tough mudder last year was great fun photos and didn't require that much upper body (it just helps). It was just a stamina things more than anything and as its not timed everyone just sticks in their teams (or forms them with similar paced people) for the whole duration. Everyone on the course was just having a laugh and helping everyone. We all finished the 12 miles / 26 obstacles in just under 4 hours due to leg injury on one of our guys but all got home and signed up for next year
Dirty Weekend I'm not sure about. It's 20 miles (I've never run over 12 miles) and 200 obstacles but they seem to generally be much smaller. Personally I can't just run, put me on a road and 5km down I want to give up but field, mud, objects, trees, streams breaks it all up for me and I can keep going

I'm still plugging away. Getting older but apparently getting faster, which is annoying the heck out of my team mates, since they're training more, lol. They be very foncused, one in particular, since he trains hardest. We run a trail half marathon every solstice, so did the latest on Sunday. 1hr 41, which was 3 mins faster than previous best.
I credit it to the 2 wine gums I was having every 15 mins, plus the inspiration from currently reading Chrissie Wellington's auto-bio (heartily recommended) on my kindle.
Took the rugrats out for a run this morning in the woods. Good to see they can still make pace. 9, 11 and 14yrs, we did 4 miles before brekkie. Anything to try control their screen addiction, esp gaming-wise.
Prob going to do the local Parkrun on NY day, with the boys. Only ever done it once, but as good a way as any to start the new year.
One can never stop saying Thank You
After a few months of on/off exercise (more off than on if I'm honest) I've decided to commit to running another 10k (it's been 5 years since my last) this year. Training started gently this morning, and I'm going to keep on at the 5k Parkruns every Saturday morning.
I've 8 months to prepare - need to keep my eye on the prize.
Back at the gym this morning, after two weeks away over Christmas. It was a struggle, but by the end of the week I hope it will be a bit easier!

I really need to get back into it, events start in 4 months and I've been way too lazy.
I'm also feeling constantly tired/down which I'm pretty sure is due to no exercise and crap food. Sigh.

Last week I started my 30 week Ironman training plan. Unfortunately Ironman Melbourne is only 11 weeks away, so I had to start at week 19. Consequentially I am hurting. A lot.
A friend asked me to go running with him yesterday, prep training for his attempt at the North Downs Way 100 in July. We started at Dorking at about 9am, and ran west through Guildford, then cut north just before Farnham along the Blackwater Valley Path (borrrrring bit).
Anyway, I did a hundred yards or so short of 30 miles. Was a bit tiring towards the end, but a good start to the year. Better than the Park Run I did last week with my kids, to motivate them, where somebody died en route - harsh!

First outdoor day climbing for me was on the 2nd this year. Blazing sunshine all day. Hopefully starting as I mean to go on.
6 Months late but mate has taken my GoPro footage from TM last year and made a video.
12 Miles, 26 obstacles turned into a 10 minute video
Kind of motivated me to get off my ass again, next one is in May

So this week I've got off my ass and started running again. Did 4km on Sunday (not recorded) and found it alright, no real struggle as such.
Wednesday did 6km after work and it killed me. I struggled from the half way mark and calves have been killing last 2 days. Stupid being lazy for the last 2 months!
So busy few months coming up....
Feb - Getting back into running, cycling and gym.
March - 10km One True Grit - Hertfordshire
April - 7 days snowboarding and 2x 10kms Gauntlet Games - Hertfordshire & WAR - Hertfordshire
May - Tough Mudder Kettering!!! and friends are trying to get me to sign upto this crazy thing! Dirty Weekend
June - London to Brighton Cycle (this is so much fun!)
