    Sorry been away

I've been away for the last week and so have just come back to some follow up on the thread.

So, to answer some of the questions.

    1. I've not found out anything new yet. If will go through the thread and try out any suggestions in there

    2. I will check the FP AUDIO connector to see if there is any way it could be connected in reverse or something. But my FP audio out works.

    3. Not sure I understand the question about my FP case audio being HD or AC97 - doesn't the audio just come off the board and the case just provides a physical connector? The case is a Sonata II (Antec).

    4. Interestingly Punkfx reports an identical problem and reckons all is connected OK. So, I'm inclined to believe it is not just me!

    Andy

the header set up is different - some cases have both an HD cable & another AC'97 cable.

andybray, not just u and not just me... i saw "some" other ppl around with this problem...
glowball, we are all looking to this thread with interest lol

We r lucky, cause as i can see, even the ppl that dont have this kind of problem is curious to find the solution! thx again guys! and please, dont quit! we need u!

And me... no no... didnt find anything yet... but i swear, i trying every single day!

About the audio being HD or AC97. I almost sure that i understand that. The motherboard offer 2 possible setups... the first uses the HD and the second uses AC97. Almost every case offer just an audio out and mic in for the front panel, so, we should use the AC97 setup. Im not saying that we dont have case with HD options for FP, but i think that the only in-out option is more common.

Andy... d3fiant sent us a interest link about our chipset... i was thinking... in some kind of way, it looks that its the inverse setup showed at users manual... could u that a look and see what u think?

Still trying guys! Lets solve this and get in abit to earn tons of money! lol

    c ya guys!

I have an Eclipse 62 case, FP is AC97 compatible but I doubt its HD compatible from a branded point of view as the case was out before HD codecs became the norm. All the literature seems to point toward the standard being interchangable. I will have a more indepth try at solving this tonight, my initial attempt was just plug it in, it didnt work. Also has anyone tried turning off jack sensing as suggested by Buff, I believe that is one of the key differences

Re: Problem with front panel audio on AB9 Pro

hey all...thought I would put in my 50 cents worth lol...I have an AB9 WIFI edition with the same problem only mine is worse...none of the ports work. I have disabled the front jack detection, re-installed drivers, changed operating systems etc...etc...nothing seems to work. I know the ports all work with respect to the case as I had another board in it not long ago and had no problems at all?

I am starting to think there is some sort of difference in the pinouts maybe? All the rear ports work fine but would be good to be able to pug in some earphones late of a night to keep gaming!!!

if you read #21 above you'll see that I said that the setup is different ...
having said that look in the BIOS to see if it offers you the choice of either AC97 or HD output - some boards/BIOS had that option.
