Re: IP35 Pro - Wolfdale bios?

The big problem I see is that even with the v16 B09 bios, the temps in uguru (which I presume is reading bios temps) are about 20°C below what core temp is reading on an orthos or 3dmark test. So for temp monitoring and cpu fan control I consider it worthless.

Yes, uGuru mirrors what my BIOS screen says (usually either ~6°C or 127°C under BIOS 14).

Hmm. Is the bios reported temp unrealistically low (i.e. below ambient), or is it that the cores are reading too high?

Re: IP35 Pro - Wolfdale bios?

I've found that the uGuru driver (uGuru.sys) was causing system problems (odd, seemingly random BSODs every few days, and it never closed down properly) in Vista64, so I removed it (and the problems). No big loss as I prefer to OC in BIOS and have Coretemp & Everest which show correct temps and are less system hungry. I never could get on with ASUS's PCProbe either. Somehow these Mobo Windows programs never quite deliver.

Re: IP35 Pro - Wolfdale bios?

Yes I'm not happy with uguru for system stability either. Seems to cause issues aswell as not monitoring temps properly. I wonder if Abit could comment on this screenie which clearly shows uguru either reporting the bios wrongly or the bios being wrong all the time because this does not move from 24°C.
