    Re: Abit closing?

Why anyone is talking about 'bug free' BIOSes is well beyond me. The PC-BIOS is an antiquated design that has been forked more times than I've had hot dinners. Bending its codebase into a usable bootstrap binary for each new motherboard is a task I do not envy, and maintaining it is almost twice as bad. Bugs are to be expected, especially as the complexity of the BIOS increases.

I'm afraid that talking about bug free BIOSes is a fantasy, chaps, best put it out of your minds. If mobo manufacturers were to switch to EFI or some alternate bootstrapping mechanism then things will improve vastly, but before that, forget it.

Abit does a great job on motherboards, it's just a shame they've been slacking off on new designs. I wish them all the success in the future.

    Hi man,

"...you won't find 1 bug free 650i SLI chipset mobo..."

Sorry man but this vCORE problem ins´t related to the nVIDIA 650i since similar e-VGA, ASUS and MSI boards dont have this BUG.

My motherboard wok´s very fine around the 650i and have good performance in games compared to some P35 and 680i board´s.

But this vCORE problem inst nVIDIA fault, you know this!

    Take care man!

I don't think that there will be any more abit/Fatal1ty mobos - no solid info but just a feeling.
The Fatal1ty branding seemed to put off as many people as it attracted.

As most know here I have been heavily involved with Abit inthe past, but not so much now. The ip35 pro wasn and is a brilliant board, that did well in most things you can throw at it.

I am concerned however with abit, with my contacts in Tiawan not answering msn or e-mail, however this is not my loss. The 650nvidia chipset was flawed fro mthe start, and was flawed not jsut with abit but all others. Even then 680i (IN932MAX) was flawed! I.E how can you excuse a SOUTHBRIDGE running at 46C Idle?

If you don't like Abit then try another solution? Swear words etc acheive nothing.

How fondly I remember my IT5h and my NFS-7 motehrboards, although I do now seem to enjoy the functionality of the Gigabyte boards

Apart from the vCORE problem my motherboard works very well, as i said before, around the 650i. Performance wise the 650i is nice and stable, at least here in my home...

Probably others users had some problems that i have not, and this is a shame for nVIDIA. I think it was a fault on those horrible old VISTA, XP and XP X64 drivers.... Today i believe things are much better, at least here...

As far i talked to ASUS and MSI users, all problems i have righ now are abit fault, not nVIDIA. My friend´s MSI board dont have any one of my problems, including the vCORE and nTUNE BSOD problems, can you get this?

Even the 'problematic' nVIDIA RAID instalation/data corruption, that everyone talks about, worked very fine here in my PC.

About SOUTHBRIDGE running at 46Cº Idle i really dont care. My VGA runs 56ºC at iddle so she is bad VGA because of this? Anyway my board have a heat sink on the S.B so no problem...

I want a solution not other board!

    See you around man...

P.S: I tryed to write correct word´s on this post! hehehhehe

Didn't Biostar get quite a few members of staff from Abit? It seems to reflect in the quality of the new TPower I45 (mine arrives tomorrow ). Really sorry to hear this though; I was looking forward to the IP45 Pro!

I am not suprised they are going down.... what did they expect with such poor support ?? Better sales figures ? yeah right....
