    You are not going to believe this...ive just cooked another bios chip trying to flash this motherboard, i put xp pro on this time and have never had a problem with flash menu...but it locked again, i have now got the chap to send me another chip with number 13 bios on.....wish i had read other articals on this board now...NEVER FLASH THIS BOARD FROM WINDOWS.

    thats the standard nowadays TBH (iirc only 20% of flashes from within windows are successful......)
    it is reccomended to NEVER flash from windows, even the companies that provide the tools (like asus' windows flashing tool) don't reccomend them...

    i'm sorry to hear that your having problems again but i hope you get things sorted

    also you can sell the BIOS chips you have taken out as they can be re-flashed by those that have the right equipment

    Right learn t my lesson well....got another bios chip with bios 13 on it, all going good, i now have two bios chips for the same board, shall i do a hot flash to have one has a spare, or is this not recommended?

    this must be a problem with the board mine shows ff as soon as you hit the power switch hope a new bios chip will fix the problem and that its not the chipset
