    Got a q9650 for my abit ip35-e - DEAD

Yep, even with the latest bios this is a no go. Dead in the water nice black screen. I thought i was meant to be able to use 45nm processors on this thing says they're website which has now disappeared. I wonder if q9550 will work... back to the q6600 in the mean time, grr.

This has taken up my whole day too, thanks abit.

the Q9550 is 45nm too so I doubt it'd work either. Best bet is to upgrade the motherboard, or return your CPU.

it can use certain 45nm CPUs, QX9650 should be supported unless it's a new stepping.

not too hard to use Google to find the CPU support list even though the abit site is down.

Apparently q9550 works no problems on bios 15, so i'll be trading it for a q9550! Abit's site is back up, woot.

Sell the abit ip35-e, no point anymore - they still havent got around to fixing their latest & last motherboard for compatability with the ATI 4870X2 Graphics Card i.e. Abit IX48-GT3 Hotfoot & it's been out months - disgusting.

Can get a Gigabyte EP45-UD3R for around £90 it will work with any CPU in the last few years with the shipping bios especially that Q9650, would be cheaper if you sell the Abit IP35-E.

Gigabyte also provide UK Warranty for 3 years.
