I gotta admit HD isn't really my thing - just got it for watching the odd movie and playing 360, lol

Audio is where I am happy I do need a better speaker controler though - mine is actually a PA controler, lol. it works but I have XLR to phono cables everywhere :S

Ah, I got the 32c3035, great telly - was on offer at the time, otherwise I would have had the Panasonic for £519. Still really impressed with it, and it looks perfect when fed HD stuff.

Do you think its too big ?

I am seriously considering getting one of the professional Panasonic plasmas with 1080p if I can stretch to that. But definitely a panasonic 1080p plasma. Worried it might be too big for the living room. Itll be more than 4 times the size of the Dell 24" that I am using now.

    Re: Your HDTV Setups

I've just messured up and I am actually 3 meters away.

No I don't think its too big but I think it depends on how close you are and the size of your living room in general

look at the photos I posted a few posts up the photo was taken pretty much from where I sit (well a bit to the left).

See if that looks too big.

There you go check the link bellow - just updated with a few new photos with some more stuff around to give you a better idea of size, The photo is took from my chair

For a tv of 50inches you should ideally be at LEAST 3 meters away. Because at this size the pixels are more stretched and wont look any good up close. If you are going to be less than 3 meters from a tv then you should look at a good 37 inch tv.

37in is definitely too small. 42in minimum. Quality is not going to be a problem as most inputs will be 1080p, pc input (suitably scaled) or built in freeview tuner (panasonic built in tuners are pretty good).

    Re: Your HDTV Setups

Update to mine - moved over to HD films all round so since the TV have bought a PS3, HDDVD add-on for 360 and as of last week or so a Toshiba EP-30 HDDVD player.

In the 4 slots under the tv you have V+ box, PS3, then EP-30 then XBOX360 although the last is going upstairs and I am going to get a surround sound kit for the spare space

Everything is connected up via single HDMI through a Belkin PURE-AV HDMI switch box. Mainly as I have three HDMI devices and only two ports on the TV. Haven't decided if I am going to get an amp and speakers or just a surround sound DVD player. Ideally if I would like to get something with dual optical so I dont have to faff around with the PS3/EP-30 sound all the time.

The four drawers underneath are full of DVD's, about 300 of them I need to clear out to start replacing with HDDVD/Blu-Rays - I really must put up a classifieds thread lol

    Matt.
