heh, £550 @ 21 with no ncb is the r0x
ok it is a bit more than the cars worth but 2 grand? that means your spending £6 a DAY on just being insured on your car. bloody stupid... you could have got an older golf gti for less than that.

He drives a posh golf yes (tho he couldnt quite afford the 6th cylinder)
I aint drove the V5, whats it like?
I like the sound of the V6 Golf's... does it have the same noise?
Whats the pulling power like on hills....
Yea Ive drove th V6, nice car!... but I'm just curious as to how the V5 drives... with its "missing" cylinder...
my dad owns a mk4 golf gti turbo 99 model
as a just for now car , cos he normaly has mercs m3's etc cars like that
well his had the car for done around 70k on it and its got 105k miles in total , hardly ever services it and doesn't think bout washing it
yet the car proves oh so solid and relible
go and look at autotrader at golf mk2's nearly all of them have over 100k on them , love to see 14 year old rovers going like that
the golf that we have is just class , fast, not bad on mpg, looks ok,really nice recaro lether heated etc
its just a great car , started out as just for now car , has become very respected by my dad and he knows a bit bout cars
my uncle also had a mk2 gti with 140k on it 8v version , he said it was nippy and fun to drive etc
my first cars gonna me a mk2 cl 1.3 nothing else
anyhows that just my badly written 2p
and just for the record, I did not create a new account and write that above post and didnt get any of my mates to sign up and post it either... this guy *pinky* just knows his stuff!
heh heh!
time for me to meet my mate.. ciao
Well the V5 was the answer for those who didn't mind losing 1 sec 0-60 whilst getting better fuel economy
Performance-wise its similar to the 1.8T, but smoother. 0-60 is pretty good, but where it comes into its own is on hills and the 3rd - 4th gear power band. Engine noise is very sweet, the V5 gives off a lovely rasp, some mistake it for a hole in the exhaust
On paper the V5 is slightly quicker than the 1.8T and more refined but the 1.8T has the advantage of being chippable to 200+ bhp, whilst chipping the V5 will only add a few bhp due to it being a non-turbo lump.
err yes 3dfx is not me
/me quickly switchs accounts
yes thats true bout the chip m8 , easy bang for buck performance , and i am sure the solid engine would handle it fineOriginally posted by Skii

also forgot to mention there TDI , are freaking wicked cars , some pushing out the same hp as the petrol models , but with more torqu , but will still be less fune to drive cos the rev alot lower , but still i remember a car program getting 40mpg out of 1 , was fairly good , remember that its not exacly a small car nor small on the weigth side of things
Ooops accidental post sorry
angon, mk 2 is what - 20 thru to about 13 years old - am i right?? nearly any car of that age will have 100k on it, cos people drive cars! if you looked for a rover of that age then yes - it would have 100k on it unless its been sat in a garage most its life. you can keep any car going if you want, and to be honest theres not much of a reason to keep a non-gti mk2 golf going over any other car of its age - they're not particularly special. nowt wrong with them, but nowt particularly special either.go and look at autotrader at golf mk2's nearly all of them have over 100k on them , love to see 14 year old rovers going like that

sorry but every person i have ever spoken to or talked with about cars , would agree that VW , golf are alot better than rover
rover sales prey on the old and elderly
