Going to buy this car

Hi all im going to buy this car its a Honda civic Sport 1.6 VTEC



What do you lot think? Its only done 11,000 miles and has all the features that the type r has just not as quick.

I rather like that design of civic, nicer looking (IMO) than the new model.

We had one for 2 years on 02 plates - no bodykit but good sport spec with Climate, elec sunroof, leather...
Great car, utterly reliable, very good dealer who couldn't do enough for you.
Driving was ok but not that thrilling only 110bhp after all.
I'd buy another one.

I test drove one a couple of years ago, hated it. Main reason was the "sporty" suspension ie hard, on a car with not a lot of go. You have to run it at high revs to get any acceleration out of it, this results in a lot of noise. Fun for a while then noisy and uncomfortable, without much speed. I was set to have one before driving, then changed my mind after a test drive. Currently looking at a fabia vrs, before they stop making the current model.

I've just bought a Civic Type-S (that shape and colour) and I really like it - a halfway house between that and the Type R - some of the show and some of the go (160bhp).

I like that it has enough power at low revs to pootle around like the (eased C4 it has replaced, but above ~4krpm it races away (steadily, no jump) with a surprisingly nice exhaust note...

nice car, yes a frenid of mine had a three door one in black as i seem to remember, nice car looks good realiable just too slow imo.

Me and My ex had one of these as a replacement car when his Type-R was in being touched up. (Before he wrote it off round a lampost *snigger*)

They're not as nippy as the R's but they're still a very nice drive. One of the models comes with the same body kit, I think it was the Sport. I wasn't so sure about the Type-S as it was a bit roundy.

I was seriously tempted in buying one before I got my Colt.

The Type-S was 5 door only in that generation, and 3 door only in the current generation.
