But shad - Civic type r's are 15k odd. How much is one of those? £20k+ ??Originally Posted by Shad
New civic type r = 0.62 in 6.5 seconds, 143Mph. All for 15-16k If you think that aint a hot hatch - i question your mental ability!
Me mates getting a new civic type r in a couple of weeks - ill let you know whether its a real hot hatch or not

Either go for:
If i had a lot to spend:
Audi A3 3.2 V6 Quattro
If i was on a budget:
Skoda Fabia vRS
All valid points.Originally Posted by Butuz

i disagree, hot hatches are all about the subtle differences that help them look slow, but be quick. if they look quicker then it should be just a mild bodykit and nice alloys that do it. understatement is the way forwards. rs2000 is so mid90s

SIR is the Japanese VT, but gets loads of toys like power steering, climate control, air con, electric folding mirrors, glass roof and more power.Originally Posted by Russ
The VT engine is very hard to transplant into a 16V by the way.

Well just so we've got a bit of choice, and its not the hottest of the hot hatches but i live the look of them.
and I don't know if this will be allowed but sod the civic type R and give me a Integra Type R any day
I think the blokes Civic Type R who works at the same place as me looks like a combi van.

I saw corrolla the other week.
quite impressed with looks, i've hear they've got quite good equipment specs as well.
you cant have an ITR its coupe surely
Oh my god - i cant believe there are 2 people alive that think a toyota corolla looks good! What is the world coming to!! In all seriousness - Toyota mostly make bland as hell old mans cars - and that new corolla looks like it fits in niceley with that description!
@ Shad - i see where your coming from - but for me a hot hatch should be a standard hatch, made to be as fast and best handling as possible for as little money as possible. 20k+ is far to much for a hot hatch, it aint in the spirit of the Golf GTI or the Pug 205GTI.

I hope we're talking Mk1 or 2 GTI here

why? the 3 and 4 are just as hot.
Sure, as long as you don't want to go round a corner particularly quickly, or have any feedback whatsoever.
