Re: Honda in F1 for 2009

This is amazing news especially since they're using better Merc engines (+60bhp over Honda) and apparently kicking the competition in practice times!

This could be a good year for our Jenson

Re: Honda in F1 for 2009

Button was 60/1 just 2 weeks ago. A mate of mine has got a bet on Button for the title at 25/1 and Rubens at 33/1. I know someone else who managed to get Button at 40/1.

If I were a betting man I think at the moment I'd be inclined to put a bet on Rubens. He was the stronger of the 2 last season. Common sense tells me it's going to be one of the Ferrari drivers or Kubica in reality though.

That said, I do think wherever BGP are after the first 4 races, they'll only slip back as the season goes on. Frankly getting to the grid in Melbourne is a huge victory in itself. Should be a nice battle between themselves, Red Bull and increasingly Renault as the season wears on.

McLaren are nowhere at the moment. Whatever parts they bring to Jerez this week (the last test until November, after the season) are absolutely crucial. As things stand it doesn't look as if McLaren will score any points in Melbourne, save for the mistakes or unreliability of others.

I think Mclaren will come through by Melbourne.
