It makes a great noise, just a shame the MPG dies with it. Cruises very well, although 6th gear could be longer.

Well, I am 26 going on 40! As I said, it's practical for when I need to move people/stuff, but sporty for some fun. Has lots of new toys for me to play with. Radar cruise control and parking sensors would be nice to have...

Also noticed today that I'm missing a valve cap. Probably cost a load to get that replaced (probably get 4). Any tips on removing the badges from the paint work without damaging it?

Don't do it! No self-respecting hooligan would pit themselves against an estate car, even if it had an ST badge, while it helps mark out the car for being a bit more special and not just an estate with a body kit.

Unless as you say they're not standard, in which case they should come off quite easily without damage.

Hairdryer + dental floss/fishing line in a downward sawing motion. Clean up the residue left and give it a polish.

I removed the badges on my car after 4 years, no detrimental paint marks whatsoever.

Its a Jekyll and Hyde animal tbh. very comfy refined quiet cruiser on one hand, drop a few cogs and floor it, and well . . . you've heard the noise it makes (which reminds me must look into some sort of Miltek system)

Nope the ST badge on the front, and the ST badge to the right of the mondeo lettering on the right are not standard.

There either off a Fiesta or Focus ST.

It is indeed. How about a mongoose system? Sounded rather tasty on an ST I heard, though not sure how bearable it would be on a longer journey.

Miltek also do a 'discrete' version of their exhausts (or do for the TypeR) which uses the stock outlets with the better exhaust hidden - great if you like the OEM look but with a bit more punch

Oh if you want something that looks and is the same size as OEM then JP have literally just and I mean just under a month ago launched a new system for the 220.

So I'd either go down that route or full blown Miltek, really need to find someone thats got one to see what its like to live with.

I did think they might have come off the diesel version, but their ST badges are red.

I have to give some credit to Dave, but also in seeing this:

*mod* that had been carried out to a Fiesta ST whilst out and about on the town a while ago.

Also the only ST badge the Mondeo has is the one on the bottom of the steering wheel, the others say ST220.

Re: Picking Up My New Car Next Weekend

Well, the badges are off now; thanks for the dental floss idea. Going by the amount crap and dirt behind it, I would say they've been there a while. The rear badge was red, so you're probably right rasta.

I've also had a chance to play with some more toys. The auto-dimming rear view mirror is excellent; although I wasn't expecting the green tint. The auto-wipers were a bit hit and miss today during light rain. They got better as the rain got heavier though. Still haven't had time to pry off panels to find out where the wire going to my tax disc comes from. I'll leave that for when I have some time off next weekend.

Re: Picking Up My New Car Next Weekend

My rear mirror when dimmed has a slight blue tint to it? Meh doesnt bother me, its just great not to be blinded, just wish the side mirrors had the same feature

Wipers wise, that is one thing that does annoy me, yes I can manually have them on constanty then on the fastest speed, but I cant manually have it on the intermitant setting, you have to have it on auto. It does a good job, but I still would like the ability to control it myself. After fitting some Bosch 'flat' wipers that dont squeek im not so bothered letting the wipers do there own thing.

Ive also had most of the front of the car off as well. Why you ask?

Well . . . for the past few weeks the alarm has been going off pretty much whenever it felt like it The cause is the bonnet sensor. The solution is to unplug the bugger. Troube is, its not the easiest connector to get to. Removal of the front grill, and taking the locking unit apart seemed to sort it. So Gerrard if at any point your alarm starts going off for pretty much no reason it'll be the same thing. After googling it/foruming it, it is pretty much the only cause of alarm troubles.

Does yours have the standard halogen lights or the Xenon's? Aparntly the ford Xenon's arent particularly brilliant, but im not that happy with the standard halogens, so am looking into doing something about it.
