I've got 4 of those on the Impreza. Might as well take them off and drive it on the rims in the snow!

I've never, in my life, driven such an unmanageable car on snow! That includes my old rear drive Sierra estate. 4WD is utterly defeated and the braking is hopeless.

It goes a bit like this.

    1) Impreza moves
    2) Toyo Proxes fill up with snow
    3) Impreza spins wheel or two
    4) Engine Revs pick up beyond 2500
    5) Turbocharger gets excited
    6) Impreza spins 4 wheels and wanders off in some random direction

That might sound like enthusiastic driving but I swear it isn't. It goes from gently pulling off in 2nd to petulant rally car faster than I can lift off the gas.

But, it's all down to tyres. Just picked up a 2nd set of rims and I'm now shopping for winters. Just got to hope I don't die before they arrive (or put a MOT on the XR4x4).

mot the xr4x4!!! i used to love my mates until the engine went

yeh the toyo's will fill with snow but this is a corsa 1.4 so there is nothing to get excited about

compared to my van and the old zv5's she had on they are 500% better as she has gone from summer to all weathers

bmw 328 can sit and wait it out with its 245/s on the back :s

My dad's just fitted me some winter tyres to my car, cos I was sliding all over the show on my normal tyres, and what a huge difference they've made!

For the £420 they cost me, including the rims, they're definitely worth it! Should last me a few years too hopefully .
